Notes on collections

La Galleria d'Arte Moderna di Palermo GAM, si found in the monumental complex of Sant'Anna, the 15th century, the ideal place for activities and functions of a modern Museum. The new Museum returns, sorting through a qualitative selection of the works, the character and the history of the collections to offer a uniform image and easily read to the public. The three exhibition levels: the ground floor retain the historical genre in monumental formats, the picture between Neoclassicism and romanticism, the long twilight of classical mythology, the Garibaldi celebration between history and myth and the paintings of Francesco Lojacono,  which gave a new image of Sicily. On the first floor the poetics of "true" in the literary themes and genre scenes; Aestheticism and Exoticism of the 19th and 20th centuries. The paintings of Antonino Leto with its famous Mediterranean landscapes, lyrical naturalism by Ettore De Maria Bergler and Michele Catti expressions and its interior landscape. On the second floor are works of taste of Venice Biennials between symbolism and modernism and twentieth-century Italian locations and in Sicily
