Historical notes
The building occupies two squares, one Pretoria where the Aquile Palace, seat of the city and town hall is located in the Vergogna fountain, called so because of the nude statues, and Bellini square, which is overlooked by The Martorana and San Cataldo . Is a church built in the 16th century, with a single nave and decorated with a lavish marble mixed with apparatus, stucco and frescos, typical of the Counter-reformation. It is adjacent to the convent of cloistered nuns Domenicane who, unseen and the choir could assist behind the grate at liturgical functions. (CLOSED FOR RENOVATION)
