Notes on collections

Is a modern Museum and cultural center, returned to the city in 2012 on the recovery project of the arch. Gae Aulentiallocated in the Palace Branciforte , of the 17th century. The Palace was the residence of the noble family of Nicholas Lanza Branciforte Conte of Raccuja. The collections, of inestimable value, conserve archaeological finds from various eras, bronze sculptures, frescoes, majolicas, while the rooms are equipped with modern multimedia teaching media. Over time, the building has undergone several revisions, followed the architectural damage of 1848, when it was hit by artillery shelling on Bourbon, with whom they wanted to quell the Sicilian Renaissance, revolution and 1943 followed the Allied bombing of World War II. Inside the Palazzo, in ground floor, rider is the archaeological collection of Sicily, with 4700 pieces, most of which exposed for the first time, the cooking school Gambero Rosso and restaurant Branciforte which houses a rich collection of pottery. Designed by Gae Aulenti is the auditorium (room of 99), with cutting-edge technologies. On the first floor of the library building of Sicily, which contains about 50 thousand volumes and the halls that host the philatelic and Numismatic collections sculptures. The room is dominated by a large fresco of Paternò Ignazio Moncada .

The Emporium is accessible regardless of the visit of the Palace.
