The cultural association Villa Sant'Isidoro

A new Museum is born in Bagheria. It is based in the eighteenth-century villa of St. Isidore, De Cordova remained exceptionally integrates both in structure and in the precious furniture, artworks and furnishings.

The most important cultural asset is returned to the Bitter public enjoyment with all the works, including some masterpieces, and the documents contained within this valuable casket.  The villa and its gardens, whose initial cell is identified in the Garrett Farmhouse, belonged to the family of the marquises Del Castillo De Cordova and, after the death of marchesa Maria Teresa De Cordova in 2011 was inherited from Domenico entrepreneur Abdul that the cultural association "Villa Sant'Isidoro" chaired by him, has embarked on an ambitious project to transform the complex into a cultural centre.

The rooms of the first floor of the villa are now returned to the public.  The glitz of the big living room frescoed by Rocco Tresca brothers and alternates to the succession of the most intimate and complimentary environments where you can admire today the two masterpieces "David with the head of Goliath" by Pietro Novelli and "martyred Saint Sebastian" by Jusepe de Ribera (Spagnoletto), autograph replicas of two great artists, recognized by Vincenzo Abbate but also sections dedicated to photography, to toys, to clothing and accessories.  Tools and machines for the processing of olives, citrus, grapes and wheat documenting the life of villa, farm until the 70 's of the twentieth century, are exhibited in the rooms of the 17th century stables.
