Immaculate Conception Church in chapter

The Chiesa dell'Immacolata Concezione al " Capo " has nothing to envy to the most famous masterpieces of Sicilian Barocco . The austere façade is surrounded by numerous and colorful market stalls. The Interior is a riot of marble, stucco, mix of paintings, forged irons, and golden statues and spiral columns of red marble works of the most eminent artists of the time. The Church was built starting in 1604 and preserves the sarcophagus of Laura Imbarbara noblewoman, the wife of don Sigismondo Ventimiglia. the noblewoman was the patron of the Church. All the magnificent decorative system revolves around the high altar and the canvas of famous painter monrealese, Pietro Novelli . During the visit are to observe the four polychromatic marble marquetry frontals, true works of jewellery, marble carved by anonymous as brilliant Sicilian artists. During his short reign, Vittorio Amedeo of Savoy, Sicilia King fell in love with these attractive paliotti to order two and mailed to Turin.
